the evil "dogs" started barking at 6:30, my throat is sore, i accidentally punched boy in the face with my elbow, i have to do laundry, there are still 33 christmas cards to write, and fathers are impossible to shop for. i have to go to work so i won't have time to accomplish any of this--i can tell it's going to be a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day.

except i have to post this e-mail from the director of my graduate program because i can't believe (well, yes, i can) that it is even necessary. i bet student council is working around the clock to get the first week of classes changed for the .1% of students who can afford the trip/manage to get tickets to the game:

"Greetings Alabama Football Fans and other SLIS students,

We have already begun to receive questions about classes on January 7 and 8, 2010. The National Championship Game will be played, as I understand it, in prime time on the evening of Thursday, January 7.

I cannot yet advise you as to whether a holiday from classes will be declared for January 7, so at this time students should prepare to attend classes on Thursday, January 7, regardless. Faculty members and teaching assistants who plan to attend the game should make arrangements for their classes to be covered as they would during any absence from classes. Students who elect to skip their classes in order to travel to Pasadena or to watch the game will have the consequences established by instructors for the individual courses. Please be aware that a consequence of missing a first class, if the class is full, may be loss of your seat to a student who does attend the class in the hopes of “getting in.”

Weekend college classes will be held, if already scheduled, on Friday and Saturday, January 8 and 9. At this time, there are numerous flights from Los Angeles to Birmingham that arrive in Birmingham on Friday in time for students to attend Friday evening classes here in Tuscaloosa.

Any new information will be sent to you as I receive it. Meanwhile, Roll Tide."

i promise.
once exams are over,
i won't be invisible anymore.
