proof that the first half of fragile eternity (otherwise known as the most disappointing book ever) could be condensed into 200 words rather than 200 pages [leaving plenty of book for the story which began when the book ended] :

ash is adapting to life as the summer queen: she is totally in love with seth. (i mean totally.) but the power of summer is bringing her close to keenen. the fragile [gasp] peace of the last book seems threatened.
ash: i love seth but i'm lusting for keenen. oh no!
don: i love you keenen but i know you'll leave me for ash. also, i don't want us to turn into your parents.
keenen: i love don, but ash is my queen. woe. connive.
seth: i want to be a faery, too. then we'll be equals.
ash: good idea!
keenen, don, niall: no.
ash & seth: why not??
[niall punches keenen in the face. seth is now his "brother"]
ash: please, don, take keenen back. this makes my life easier.
don: no. [stabs ash...then 20 pages later] ok, maybe i will.
[don & keenen, together again.]
banaach: look how easily i can fuck things up for you. [evil laugh] go war.
[seth disappears.]
keenen: see ya don, ash needs me.

the end.
(that was 171 words, btw.)
the sad thing is, i really liked the end of the book; however, i would have preferred it to continue. the only thing the book managed to accomplish was setting up the story for another book. which probably won't come out for another year and a half. grug.

in other news, i decided to embrace suburbia and prune my roses yesterday morning. i'm still finding mysterious cuts all over my body. having a yard *so* isn't worth it...
